Malabar Coast · Kerala

zamorin

C A F É

Kerala's coast, poured into a cup. Nadan snacks fried to order, filter kaapi brewed strong, and chai steeped the way the harbour towns have always taken it.

Our Story · Since 2016

Named for the harbour
that once traded in spice.

Long before shipping lanes had names, Kerala's coast was a meeting point — pepper, cardamom and ginger loaded onto dhows bound for ports the traders themselves had never seen. Café Zamorin borrows that spirit of exchange: nadan recipes passed down through kitchens, served the way they'd be served at home, alongside coffee and chai brewed the way the coast has always liked it.

Started in 2016 in Bangalore, right by Kristu Jayanti University — and still there today, five branches on.

Beyond the Snack Counter

Meals worth planning around.

Breakfast · Daily

Appam & Stew

Lace-edged rice appam, soft in the centre, alongside a mild coconut-milk vegetable or egg stew. Served mornings, while the appam is still hot off the pan.

All Day · Every Day

Mappilah Biryani

Malabar-style short-grain rice, layered and slow-cooked with the Mappilah spice blend. Available through the day, not just at lunch.

Sundays Only

Syrian Christian Breakfast

A once-a-week spread in the Syrian Christian tradition of Kerala's coast — think kallappam, mutton or egg roast, and the kind of breakfast that takes its time. Sundays only, while it lasts.

Boats on the Malabar coast, in the old trading style

"The coast never made its tea quiet. Ours isn't either."
